Distributed Control System (DCS) Internship
Internship Duration:
15/07/2026 to 21/07/2026
I successfully completed an internship focused on the
study of sugar manufacturing process, cogeneration power plant, and Distributed Control System (DCS).
The internship provided practical exposure to industrial processes, electrical power generation,
process control, and automation systems used in sugar industries.
During the internship, I studied the complete
sugar manufacturing process, including sugarcane handling,
juice extraction, clarification, evaporation, crystallization, centrifugation, and sugar drying.
I also gained an understanding of the major electrical and mechanical equipment involved in the process.
The internship also covered the operation of the
cogeneration power plant, including steam generation,
turbines, alternators, electrical distribution, and the utilization of bagasse as a fuel
for combined heat and power generation.
I also gained practical knowledge of the
Distributed Control System (DCS), including process
monitoring, control loops, instrumentation, alarms, and industrial automation. This internship
helped strengthen my understanding of real-world industrial electrical systems, power generation,
process control, and automation.
